About

A small shop, kept deliberately simple.

Virginia Cabinetry LLC was created in 2008 by owner and operator Nijaz. The idea was straightforward: build a quality product, and give people the kind of customer service that is hard to find now. Keeping the company small and uncomplicated is how that stays possible.

When you call, you get Nijaz himself. He oversees the sales process, stays hands on through the entire production process, and in most cases is on site during the installation. Any question that comes up during a custom order gets answered with a phone call. He has been in the cabinet business for over fifteen years.

The larger companies are built around volume. This one is built around the customer still being a priority, which is closer to the small town shop most people are hoping to find.

The wood

A different look and feeling from every one.

Choose cherry for an elegant, timeless look, maple for strength and durability, or oak for a rugged appearance. The selection runs further than that.

Cherry

A red tone that deepens and grows richer as it ages. Fine to medium grain, moderately hard, resists both warping and checking.

Close, uniform grain running from creamy white to soft brown, with occasional curly or wavy variation in the pattern.

Hickory

Blond through to dark brown, with mineral streaks, knots and burls. The widest natural variation of the group.

Oak

Fine grain and dense texture with a prominent open grain pattern. Heavy grained and durable, in red or white tones.

Birch

Fine, even texture from cream to reddish brown. Takes a stain well, and is usually at its best left natural under a clear coat.

Smooth and generally straight grained, from deep chocolate to light reddish grey brown. Mellows and lightens with age.

Straight grained and moderately hard, from tan to reddish brown, darkening with time and sun exposure.

Reclaimed

Reclaimed Wood

Stained nail holes, weathering, old saw marks and a darkened patina. Used for tables, benches, beds, tops and islands.

Vinyl wrapped over fiberboard. A contemporary look, durable in wear, and easy to clean, with an exact door to frame match.

Getting started

Gather pictures and styles that appeal to you, sketch a rough floor plan, take wall to wall measurements, and settle on a budget you are comfortable with.

The showroom

Visit during showroom hours or call for an appointment. Questions get answered, first thoughts get shared, and a design and price estimate is prepared at no cost to you.

Design

A visit to your home to sketch the floor plan and take exact dimensions, then floor plans, elevations and perspective drawings, and an exact price on the final selection.

04

Installation

Demolition and installation by experienced craftsmen, coordinated with your contractor or architect, supervised through to the end and serviced afterwards.
